At least once a week I have to talk myself down from getting so pissed off at previous experiences with Christian leaders telling me thinking/learning about certain ideas “is dangerous.”
This is a cyclical track built by centuries of manipulative gas lighting done by inept leaders who wanted to keep their flock where they could see them; where they could continue being served, fed, and praised by them.
If anyone ever says something you’re reading, learning from, thinking about, is “dangerous,” lose that friend as fast as you can. They want to own you.
I challenge you to let them know how much of an asshole they’re being, too, even and especially if they aren’t aware they’re being controlling behind a mask of purity and good intention.
The following is from my sister in law, who is Philippino. It involves my sister in law, my niece (5), and my nephew (3). It’s been edited and names removed for their protection. They live in a pretty big city in Florida.
I was dropping [daughter] off to school. While at the parking lot I told [daughter] to hold [son]’s hand while I grab the back pack.
When I turned around I didn’t see [son] with her. So I asked her where he went. Before she even answer, some guy on his big truck with a Confederate flag yelled and said “your son is in the back of my truck.”
I just smiled cause I thought he was just kidding. Then he yelled louder and said “YOUR SON IS IN THE BACK OF MY TRUCK YOU PIECE OF SHIT!”
Then [daughter] pointed out and told me, “mommy [son] is behind you.” And she asked me “why the guy is yelling, mommy?”
I said just ignore him.
Then, before he finally left, he yelled again saying, “YOU SHOULD GO BACK TO THE MOUNTAIN WHERE YOU BELONG WITH YOUR TRIBE.” THEN people started honking at him because he was blocking a traffic and he finally left the parking lot.
I’m beyond pissed right now I tried my best not to fight back since I had the kids with me.
